The Laboratory and Testing Industry Organisation (LTIO) is the trade association for the testing industry, covering testing companies and laboratories.

We represent and self-regulate providers that demonstrate they can provide trustworthy testing services to businesses and the general public.
We work with the Government to ensure the UK testing industry has the world’s highest ethical and professional standards.
Membership of the LTIO is via a gold standard accreditation process.
The LTIO is open only to those providers which accept an independently enforced, rigorous Code of Conduct based on the Competition and Markets Authority guidance sent to all COVID-19 testing providers on 25th August 2021. In addition, member organisations must score 3.5 or above on the independent Trustpilot rating website. A new mark of quality is being established to make sure member companies meet the highest standards of quality and customer service.
The LTIO has been established to represent the leading members of the testing and laboratory industry, all of whom have the highest standards.
These organisations can only be members if they act in an ethical manner both around the efficacy of their testing processes and the ability to offer high levels of customer service. The LTIO is overseen by an Advisory Board to ensure these standards are met and maintained.

It is a condition of membership of The Laboratory and Testing Industry Organisation (LTIO) that members accept and agree to abide by a Code of Conduct at all times.
All members providing testing services to the general public need to demonstrate that they can deliver test results in a timely and reliable manner.
